About Merit Basic English Fitness
Merit helps students complete the requirements for Basic English through a series of Concepts and Questions.
The programs contain a wide variety of interactive learning activities that have been effective in mastering skills relevant to ESL success for Intermediate English Learners.
The bundle will familiarize students with the type of content they will see on the exam. Lessons are self-paced and self-correcting. |

Student scores are tracked in a record management system that allows instructors and students to view results and print reports.
Basic English Fitness consists of the following titles:
Language Arts: Reading and Critical Thinking Skills
Basic English Fitness, For Intermediate English language learners
- Each set contains 36 grammar concepts and 396 questions.
- Contextual help and feedback engage students of all ages.
- Students choose from a menu of reward animations and sounds.
- All student work is stored in the Teacher Program Manager.
- Content can be spoken aloud by using the Merit Text Talker.
Students will learn to:
- Correct errors in punctuation
- Use tenses properly
- Identify and correct errors in usage
Among the concepts covered:
- Contractions of pronouns and verbs
- Possessive of singular nouns: 's
- Indefinite articles with adjectives
- More irregular noun plurals
